Area of Emphasis
Richard Antonelli is a shareholder in the Litigation and Employment and Labor Services Groups. His areas of practice are labor, employment and Employee Retirement Income Security Act litigation, and labor relations including labor arbitration and collective bargaining. Mr. Antonelli’s practice consists primarily of representing employers in defense of discrimination claims and claims brought pursuant to the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. He also handles cases involving trade secrets and restrictive covenants and defends claims brought pursuant to the Labor Management Relations Act and Fair Labor Standards Act. In addition to his substantial trial practice, Mr. Antonelli has significant appellate experience in both federal and state appellate courts.
Background
Mr. Antonelli received his Associates Degree from Community College of Allegheny County in 1969, his BA from Duquesne University in 1971 and his JD from Duquesne University School of Law in 1975.
Membership and Affiliations
Mr. Antonelli is active in the American Bar Association and various labor and employment law committees, the Allegheny County Bar Association and its Labor Law Committee, and the Federal Bar Association. He has been active in various charitable organizations and was one of three original founders of the Community College of Allegheny County Educational Foundation. In addition, Mr. Antonelli serves on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s Continuing Legal Education Board as the Vice Chair.
Mr. Antonelli has been listed in the Labor and Employment Law Section of The Best Lawyers in America® since 2008.
