Amy Marshall began her career as a lawyer for the Pennsylvania Department of Labor with the Bureau of Worker’s Compensation. In 1996, she became general counsel for Uni-Marts, Inc. a public corporation based in State College, PA. Uni-Mart operates a chain of corporately controlled convenience stores. As general counsel for Uni-Mart, Ms. Marshall was responsible for all legal operations of the corporation which included operations in New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia and New Jersey. Ms. Marshall maintained oversight of all human resource functions of the corporation, including personnel policies, unemployment compensation and worker’s compensation. Ms. Marshall also represented Uni-Mart with state and federal agencies involving employment discrimination claims.
Following her work for Uni-Mart, Ms. Marshall entered private practice 2003, first with a State-College based law firm and then with Pittsburgh-based Babst, Calland, Clements and Zomnir, P.C.
Background
Ms. Marshall received her B.A. from The Pennsylvania State University in 1991 and her J.D. from the Dickinson School of Law in 1994.
Membership and Affiliations
Ms. Marshall is a member of the Centre County, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations and the Wilkinson Campbell Inns of Court. She was recognized in Philadelphia magazine as one of Pennsylvania’s best up-and-coming lawyers according to a survey published in 2006 and again in 2007. Ms. Marshall is very active in the State College community including board positions with Mid State Literacy Council and Centre Volunteers in Medicine.
